Ok so I have the front grip complete. It’s really really rough right now. When I'm completely done ill sand off the extra JB weld and grip tape the actual grip. The last thing I have to do is set up the linkage arms and trigger then see if it works. So this will prob be my last post about it for a while until I have it working. Even if I do get it finished this week I won’t be able to test it until some time in the next few. So here ya go.go.

Wouldn't it have been easier to mod it to accept the original grip? How are you fixing the aluminum to each other?

Good work so far!

I seriously thought about modding the original grip, but I want this to be a non perminate mod. If I was to do that i would then have to hack off part of the front or the A5 and modify the original grip significantly. I wanted this to be made so when i wanted i can just unbolt it and make it stock once again. I dont like the idea of perminatly moding my marker. Any part I have used or modified that is part of the A5 I have two or more of. I have JB welded most of it together; JB weld combined with scews makes it rock solid. The glue is really good at holding rotation and slip and decent at preventing pulling appart. The screws baically are ther to help the JB weld in the pulling aspect.

I have the front in a 3 point hold on the frame. I have a half circle on the tombstone pin, then im using the original front grip point and I removed a screw from the front of the frame and replaced it with a 1.5 inch allen head bolt. The wood grip itself is made out of one 3/4" x 3/4" square dowl rod that i glued together. It became suprisingly strong. Then i have one wood screw coming down from the frame next to the for grip mounting hole. and then I have two 1.5 inch wood screws holding in the ASA. It is actually stronger than I thought it would be.

Yes you are correct about the stock ION ASA. It was in my gear bag and it looks better than my extra ProCarbine ASA.

please use bondo on that. as of now its ugly as sin but hey with some nice molding and sculpting you could have a sexy lil number of a grip there.

So because I play scenarios, I won't buy a high-end unless it has rails at useless angles, and has a machine-gun shroud bolted on it?-Maduce

Oh yeah most def. I was prob just going to use the rest of my JB weld to smooth it all out. Right now its just the bare bones 'working model'. I quote working because... well i dont know if it works yet. Once I figure out all the little quarks about my new setup I will finish it out but not untill then. No reason to make it pretty if it doesn't work.
