It's all about getting the angle on someone. You have to rely a lot more on movement and positioning yourself rather than firepower. A lot of times you kind of have to go beyond your comfort zone in terms of how aggressive you play, especially being that you are playing with limited firepower. My whole goal when playing pump is that you position yourself in a place where it doesn't matter if you are out-gunned. If you have someone flanked, broadsided or otherwise exposed, you'll find that landing a shot on them is easy.

It takes a little trial and error to get a sense for it, but after time you'll develop a sense of when it's ok to move up. You really have to study the behavior of who's shooting at you - how often they shoot, how long they shoot, in general how much of their attention is pointed solely on you etc. And even using a pump, a shot or two can force someone behind a bunker long enough to give yourself adequate enough cover to get to the next bunker. That said, pump players do have a tendency to be sneaky so don't shoot if you don't need to. While you need a marker to the elimination, as a pump player your body and movement becomes the #1 tool to get the job done.

Lastly, just try to have fun with it. It's a great opportunity to experiment. Run around, be bold. Part of the fun is that if you do get eliminated it's not a big deal, you're playing pump - and when you do land that perfect shot or flag capture it makes it that much more satisfying.

last sunday i played pump for the first time. Just relax and have fun, that is first thing you must do. The best advice i can give is use cover wisely, I was much more apt to run or hide rather than get into a fire fight with someone. They can fire on you all they want just sit back and watch what they do, or run out of paint. You will develop ninja skills thru out the day. You wont get master skills but you will find out what works for you.

I will be going again the 25 and using the pump again, I am excited more than ever to go play because I am using my pump. Don't forget to have fun, and bring your semi auto to just in case you wanna waste some paint and see the difference your new ninja skills make.
to the lord i sing praise and give all credit
for everything You have brought me through.
